New website!!

As you have probably figure out now, things look a bit different! We are starting to migrate across to our new website! The new website has been renamed from WVD Community to Virtual Desktops Community. We intend to do a lot more than Azure Virtual Desktop, and will break into Azure, MEM, Azure AD, Windows 365 etc. Lots of exciting stuff going on!

Please bear with us whilst we get things built up. If you have any idea’s or anything you want to see then please let us know!

Ernie Costa has shared a really detailed blog post in which he goes through the full end to end process of configuring Azure Stack HCI for Azure Virtual Desktop. Ernie was lucky to get his hands on the technology in preview so this is a really great post which shows us what it looks like. Check it out here –

Daniel Weppeler has created a document on GitHub where gives an overview of how to optimize your AVD Hosts via Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune. In the document he shows you which settings to configure for an optimized desktop. You can view it here –

Azure Virtual Desktop on Azure Stack HCI

At Microsoft Ignite Microsoft have announced that we now have on-prem Azure Virtual Desktop using Azure Stack HCI!!! This has been a big ask for a while now with many customers wanting to work on a Hybrid model. Well now that is possible, using Azure Stack HCI on your on-prem environment. Azure Active Directory Join Architecture Guide

Tom Hickling has announced that Microsoft has released an Azure AD Join Architecture Guide. The architecture guide covers the pre-reqs and how to create a host pool using Azure AD Join. You can check it out here –

Azure Virtual Desktop Autoscale has gone into public preview

Microsoft have announced that Azure Virtual Desktop autoscale has gone into public preview, which means it’s available for everyone. This means we can now create autoscaling configuration via the Azure portal. You can view more info here –

Support for Azure AD joined Cloud PCs in Windows 365 Enterprise

Microsoft have announced that Azure AD Join will be available for Cloud PCs for Windows 365 Enterprise SKU very soon. To read more about the announcement view here –
